The plants' environmental needs should be more or less in keeping
with the requirements of you fish.
Find out all you can about the growth potential of the plants
you want. In small tanks you will have to keep cutting back
plants that grow too large, and in the long run this will not
agree with them.
Plants that form a carpet belong in the foreground, while those
that grow taller ought to be placed on the sides or in the background.
A highly decorative specimen (single plant) can also enliven
the middle ground. Be careful to place the plants so as to leave
the fish enough swimming area.
