Pendleton's very own Saito-ha Shito-ryu Karate-do Dojo
Welcome to Chuck's School of Karate, where anyone over 5 years of age with a will to learn can come and be strengthened in mind and body while learning useful life skills such as self-discipline, calm focus on an objective even under duress, and much more.
Art / Sport / Self-Defense
Students of Saito-ha (karate organization founded by Soke Del Saito, 10th dan) Shito-ryu style Karate-do (Way of Empty Hand) embark on a journey as they learn to master sensible and applicable self-defense skills. Karate-ka (karate students) find expression an exquisite and intense style of art as they perform katas (forms) and kobudo (weapons forms). They also get ample chances to test their developing skills and compete with fellow dojo members in the form of kumite (sparring) matches.
And that's not all.
Those who desire further competition in both kata and kumite will have the opportunity to enter into tournaments with other martial art schools both near and far.
Come Join the Family
Those who enlist at Chuck's School of Karate experience a comradery with students and instructors alike as they all work together, building each other up, and challenging each other to be the best that they can possibly be.
"We are more than karate students," says Sensei Chuck Overstreet, "we are family."
With bonds forged with hard work and sweat in pursuit of common goals, members form lasting friendships as they overcome challenges together, both in and out of the dojo.
